Introduction
The CUET or the Common University Entrance Test is a platform for admission into all the top universities in India. It was introduced by the Ministry of Education (MoE) and was first scheduled for admission into the academic year 2022-23. The introduction of the exam allowed the students to have one platform for admission rather than different university-specific exams.
The CUET exam is administered by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The NTA conducts the CUET exam in May for admission into undergraduate courses. The CUET exam 2024 was conducted from the 15th of May 2024 to the 31st of May 2024. Earlier, the CUET UG exam was a complete computer-based test but from this year, it will be conducted in the hybrid mode. The NTA declared the CUET UG results on 28th July 2024.

What is the CUET Exam?
The Ministry of Education (MoE) introduced the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) for admission to all undergraduate programs in Central Universities. CUET aims to create a level playing field and equal opportunities for candidates across the country, including those from rural and remote areas. The CUET Exam is administered by the National Testing Agency.
By conducting a single examination, CUET allows candidates to reach a wider audience and participate in the admissions process for various Central Universities. Not only in Central Universities, but you can also enroll for admission into Private Universities, State Universities, Deemed Universities, and Other Universities.
CUET Exam 2024 Eligibility Criteria
The CUET exam is administered by the National Testing Agency. It has some of the specific eligibility criteria set for the candidates. To be eligible for the CUET Exam 2024, students must stand om certain parameters. Some of the general eligibility criteria required for the CUET exam are mentioned below:
- The candidates must have passed the final examination of 10+2 conducted by any recognized university/board.
- Students who are appearing for their 12th boards in 2024 are also eligible for the exam.
- The minimum aggregate marks required in the qualifying exam are 50% for General and OBC categories and 45% for SC/ST/PwD category candidates.
- There is no age limit for appearing for the CUET exam 2024. However, a candidate must fulfill the age criteria set by their desired university.

CUET Exam 2024 Application Form
The National Testing Agency extended the registration dates for the CUET Exam 2024. Earlier, the last day was 26th March 2024, but it was extended to 05th April 2024 up to 11:50 PM. This was the last call for the students who missed the deadlines for the application form.

Candidates can choose up to four exam centers based on their convenience while filling out the CUET application form. The NTA has reduced the number of CUET UG exam centers to provide opportunities for students from rural areas to appear for the exam closer to their homes.
Also, the NTA also provides the opportunity to appear for the CUET exam 2024 for students who are residing outside India. Pointers to Note
- All subjects, including languages, require attempted answers to 40 out of 50 questions. The exam duration will be 45 minutes.

Checking CUET Result
- To view or download your CUET scorecard, you’ll need to log in to the official CUET portal using your registered credentials (application number/date of birth, and password).

The result of CUET (UG) – 2024 of the candidate(s) who indulges in Unfair means Practices will be canceled and will not be declared. Similarly, the results of those candidates who appear from the Centre other than the one allotted to them or allow another candidate/person to write the exam on his behalf will be canceled. No plea will be entertained in this regard.

There are around 278 universities that accept CUET UG scorecards in India. Out of these 278, 46 are central universities, 40 are state universities, 29 are deemed universities, 153 are private universities, and 10 are government institutions.

CUET Exam Counselling
The CUET exam for undergraduate courses was scheduled between 15th May 2024 to 31st May 2024. The results for the same was released on 28th July 2024. After the declaration of the results, the counselling process will follow.
After your CUET exam, you need to keep an eye on the cut-off lists released by universities. If your score aligns, you’ll be eligible for the counselling process, which involves document verification and a personal interview. The component of the CUET exam can be broken down into three segments – domain subjects, language subjects, and the general test. Here are the preparation tips for each of the three components:
Domain Subjects
- Understand the CUET syllabus specific to your chosen domain subjects (e.g., Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, etc.).
- Master the NCERT textbooks for a strong foundation.

Language Subjects
