CUET exam pattern
The CUET exam will be conducted in 13 languages: English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Gujarati, Odia, Bengali, Assamese, Punjabi, and Urdu.
The paper consists of three sections. Section 1 is further divided into two sub-sections for the primary and secondary language.
- Section IA comprises the 13 languages mentioned above, with a total of 50 questions. The questions will be based on reading comprehension passages and will also include Literary Aptitude and Vocabulary.
- Section IB also includes the same type of questions, but there will be 20 additional languages, such as Japanese, Chinese, Russian, Spanish, German, Persian, Italian, Arabic, Nepali, Kashmiri, Konkani, Bodo, Dogri, Manipuri, Santhali, Maithali, Tibetan, Sindhi, and Sanskrit.
- Section II consists of Domain subjects, where you need to answer 40 out of 50 multiple-choice questions. The questions will be based on the Class 12th syllabus, and there are a total of 27 CUET domain subjects.
- Section III is the General Test, which covers topics like mental ability, Current Affairs, General Knowledge, Reasoning, Logical and Analytical Reasoning, Basic Arithmetic, etc. In this section, you need to answer 50 out of 60 questions, which are usually not very difficult to solve. While the exact syllabus may vary each year, certain basic topics remain the same.
